Meet our New Pastor
Starting July 1, 2026
Pastor Carlton Johnson has been married to his wife, Cathy, for forty‐nine years. Together,
they have raised four adult children and are blessed with nine grandchildren and three
great‐grandchildren. A proud Vietnam Veteran, Pastor Carlton served his country from 1972
to 1975 before continuing a lifetime of service in ministry and community leadership.
Raised in the United Methodist Church, Pastor Carlton has devoted decades to
strengthening the church and nurturing God’s people. He served as Co‐Chair of Evangelism from 2001 to 2003 and as a pastoral armor bearer at Windsor Village UMC from 2003 to 2011. In 2012, he began serving pre‐licensure as co‐pastor on the Loveland Circuit of theUMC in Lovelady, Texas, later becoming a Licensed Local Pastor that same year. Hisministry on the Lovelady Circuit has been marked by a deep commitment to young men—especially young Black men—and to building programs that uplift, educate, and empower.
Pastor Carlton is currently enrolled at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary’s Course of Study program and Oral Roberts University, where he’s pursuing a degree in Ministry Leadership/Church Operations
Alongside fellow pastors, Pastor Carlton helped develop an exceptional youth ministry that provided Saturday breakfasts, Bible study, and academic support in reading and math to address gaps students faced in school. Over the paslity of caring for the next generation, nurturing their faith, and preparing them to lead with integrity and purpose.t decade, this ministry has awarded more than $15,000 in scholarships to its young participants. In partnership with Crockett First UMC, he also helped establish a teen ministry focused onresponsibility, leadership, and spiritual growth.
Pastor Carlton’s calling is rooted in Jesus’ words in Matthew 19:14: “Suffer not the little children,” a reminder that children are to be welcomed, valued, and guided with love. He believes deeply that God has entrusted us with the sacred responsibility.
